Adopt a Snow Leapard It is estimated that Alcu and Bagira were born in October 2001. They were just 6 months old when they were taken from the wild by traders, who held them captive in appalling conditions, whilst they tried to find a buyer for them. Thankfully they were rescued and taken to a sanctuary in the Issyk Kul Biosphere Reserve, in their native home Kyrgyzstan.
